FIFA's qualified-teams tracker says Korea Republic confirmed their place at the finals on 5 June with a 2-0 win away to Iraq in Basra. In a difficult away environment, that was a fitting way to seal qualification: controlled, disciplined and efficient.

The larger meaning is in the streak. Korea Republic have become one of the tournament's most consistent returning teams, a sign of how much stability the program has maintained through different squad cycles.
