48 nations qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup — the first edition with the expanded format. Europe (UEFA) sends 16 teams, South America (CONMEBOL) 6, North and Central America (CONCACAF) 6 plus 3 host nations (USA, Canada, Mexico), Africa (CAF) 9, Asia (AFC) 8, and Oceania (OFC) 1.
